my head is going explode

Oh my goodness. I have NEVER been so hung over in my life. This morning I woke up and could barely move. I've been drunk numerous times but never this bad. I needed medication and to just sleep the day away.
Yesterday was Crystal's bacchlorette party. We had fun. We made t-shirts to wear out to the bars, we had glo-sticks, we had leis, we had a bouquet of suckers for suck-for-a-buck, we drank before we left the house, Kassy and Crystal rode the bull, and I danced with a complete stranger who made me feel his ass. We went to many bars and talked to many guys whose reaction to an attractive girl getting married was more along the lines of, "so you're never gonna have sex again, that sucks." And all this time I thought you got to have sex once you got married. Oh wait, that's just me...
I had a blast, but there is a reason that I don't go out and drink like that very often. All of Sunday was pretty much spent sleeping, trying to sleep, or sitting in the dark wishing I was still asleep. Ahh, that memories I will have for years and years of Crystal's send off into wedded bliss. And we still have a week to get everything organized for the actual ceremony. Man, I love my friends but there's a good reason you only get married once.

AHHH! Why now!?

A new post... now that is news worthy!

These past few weeks have been super hectic for me. If anyone has talked to me at all its been either to RSVP for a bridal shower, late at night when I should be sleeping, or in the car during my many many trips across the great state of Idaho.

This past weekend I though a bridal shower for my friend Crystal who is getting married on the third of March. It turned out really well, it was just really stressful for me since I had to plan it in Idaho Falls and have the shower at my parents in Boise. I don't recommend doing something like that long distance. Which also meant I had to drive to Boise after work on Friday and then come back home on Sunday. I didn't even pull into my driveway until 9:30pm on Sunday. I like to have some downtime before going to sleep, so that was not great for me either.

This next weekend I am headed to Twin Falls, again, for another bridal shower. I promised the bride I would drive up. (see, I really am a great friend.) Then the following weekend I'm going to Boise for the bacchlorette party. This time I am staying in Boise for the entire week. The wedding is the following weekend, so all the bridal party is going to be in town and we will have a million and one things to get done before the ceremony on Saturday. I do, however, have a date for the rehearsal dinner. I didn't want to be the only one there without a date so I called Sean to come with me. Sean is my sister's brother in law. I don't think that he is actually related to me, so we are just friends. He's a great guy, who would be even better if he lived closer, but he is moving to L.A. in like 4 weeks. So much for that...

Then I head back to Idaho Falls for three days, then head out to Nebraska. Honestly, this wouldn't be the best time to go to NE, but I have another wedding that I'm in. (see, this is me being a good friend again) Crystal Mosel is getting married on the 10th and I am one of her bridesmaid's. I love that she asked me to be in her wedding, I am honored. It's just at a bad time. So I will be in Nebraska for a long weekend and then drive the wonderfully long drive back to Idaho Falls. Thank goodness I have off that next Monday. Otherwise I probably would just fall asleep and all my students would run wild in the building. That would just speak volumes to the other teachers at the school.

Oh yeah, and I started my masters program so somewhere in there I need to be reading and writing my papers and staying on top of everything for that. AND I have a job. I think someone might want to be teaching my students in here some too.
Repeat after me: "I will not get married during the school year if I want Tina to be part of it."
I have all June, July, and most of August to do wedding stuff, no more weddings in March!!

Julianna, oh Julianna. You want to know six weird things about me. I think you might know all the weird things about me..

1. I have a stash of CD's that I love but don't want others to know I have. Like mid 80's Michael Jackson.

2. I was upset when I found out the OC was getting cancelled. I own all three seasons of the OC on DVD as well. Yes, I have an affinity to bad TV, like The Hills and Dance Life. Good thing I live alone.

3. I won't get dressed on a Saturday unless I know someone is going to see me or I have to leave the house. Which means sometimes I won't get out of my jammies at all one those days.

4. I will cry while watching TV, it will be something stupid that sets me off, like friends hanging out, but only when I am alone. I also will cry while at the movies by myself, but will hardly ever cry when with others, even when you're supposed to.

5. I find myself sounding more and more like my mother, just don't tell her that. But this mostly happens when I'm yelling at a student, so maybe that doesn't count... I've even had people call me Terri here in Idaho Falls because apparently I look like her too. I'm not sure how I feel about that.

6. I am a rubber necker. You know, the person who slows way down at accidents, pull overs, etc and try and figure out what exactly happened. I like to think that I know every time.

my brain is so messed up

So I'm feeling a little unnerved. I feel like my life is not what it should be. The two friends I've had for the longest have these wonderful things going on in their lives. One is getting married this spring, and the other just found out she is pregnant. I am overjoyed for both of them. I love them both and couldn't be happier for them, but it makes me feel, well... like a loser. I live alone, have pretty much no social life, and don't even leave the house on the weekends. I feel pretty pathetic. I don't know why it set me off like this, I feel bad that it did.

I said something to one of my co-workers about it today. Pretty much told her I was going to be alone forever and that my life wasn't going anywhere. She told me not to worry and that her son married a horrible person and I have so much more to offer. That might be true, but I'm never going to meet anyone going from work to home to Target. Seriously, the workers at Target are starting to familiar. I went to this young persons group from the other Lutheran church in town, they are all married and have kids. I really like it here in Idaho Falls, I even bought a house so I'm not going anywhere. I just don't want to stay here alone.

I don't know if its just my brain overreacting, or my heart is sick of being alone, or I'm just such a mess inside. Ahh! I don't know what is going on.

My New House

My new house! I bought a house, yes bought. I am so excited about it. I close at the end of this week. I never thought I would be able to do something like this on my own, and here I am.

It is a 2 bed/2 bath twin home (the rest of the free world calls them duplexes, but here in Idaho Falls they can name things whatever they want apparently). It is 1385 sq ft with a fenced yard, which means I might just have to get a dog sometime in the near future.

This is the kitchen. I'm planning on painting it red. I've always wanted a red kitchen, and since I live alone I can so whatever I want :) I guess that is one great thing about being single, I don't have to listen to other people, haha.

If you have any decorating tips, send them my way. I still haven't decided on what colors I want to do the rest of the house yet.

Sometimes I wish I was Meredith Grey

I've got to figure out a way to meet some people my own age.

I bought season 2 of Grey's and I watched the whole thing in less than a week. As much as I enjoyed every minute of it, I should not have all that extra time. Granted, I was grading papers and doing other school and homework while I watched, I've got to get out of the house more often.

Also... I was watching there is an episode towards the end that talks about how every person should have at least one love of their life, and it got me thinking. Well, crying actually. I have nothing of the sort. I have this life, a nice life. A life that is full of children that aren't mine, of friends that life so far away its hard to keep track of what is going on elsewhere, and family that drives me crazy but I somehow love anyhow. But I have never had someone say they love me and really really mean it. I've never been loved the way everyone longs for. It makes me long for something more than I have now. I really like my job, but it still is just a job. At the end of the day I don't have someone to go to and tell about the crazy thing my students do. Or someone to comfort me when I flip out when I lose my school keys or just need to cry. I just have this total alone feeling a lot of the time. I'm not sure if this is normal, and I don't have anyone to ask about it either. My best friend is getting ready for her wedding, and I'm so excited for her to start this life with Jake. I'm happy that she is happy. But I feel like I'm not as happy as I should be, because I'm all alone. And she doesn't understand how hard it is for me to be alone. I feel like I'm being a bad friend. Plus it didn't help when she told me I HAD to have a date to the rehearsal dinner and wedding. I guess I have until March to find someone...I've had 24 years and that hasn't been enough time yet. Then again, I have a tendency to like guys who want nothing to do with me, or be my friend, or freak out when I try to talk about actually dating. I just have the worse luck. Maybe something great is in my future, but its hard to wait for it.

I think a lot of this is coming for me looking into buying a house. It's this huge thing, and its just me. I know I like to be the tough girl who doesn't need anybodies help or I'll just do it myself, but it's just me. I have to look for loans, figure out everything that goes into purchasing something that takes 30!!! years to pay off. This is huge. I have a million questions that I can't answer on my own. I don't like to not be in the know. I like to be in charge, but this is above me. This is hard for me. I guess this way I can actually do what I want with it. Let me closet explode, as Sarah used to put it. Paint the kitchen red like I wanted to last year. Because I can't live with my extended family for forever. They'll probably get sick of my before long, I think that happens more than I would like to admit.

Movin' on up!

I am all moved over to the east side, well the east side of the state anyhow. I've been in Idaho Falls for a little over three weeks now. It has been a crazy time. I'm currently renting a room from my 3rd cousin and her family for the time being and I am looking for a house to buy. I've decided that I'm done moving for a while, I have no intention of moving in the near future and that being said, I'm going to actually buy a house instead of throwing money down the drain by renting.

I'm teaching 1st grade this year. I have 18 students in my class. Things are going well. We started school a week and a half ago and I haven't killed anyone yet ;) Just kidding, its going really great. I like Idaho Falls a lot, its like a nicer version of Twin Falls. I'm enjoying the new teachers, well actually everyone else has been here for at least 10 years so I'm the new one....
I think I'm going to start masters classes this spring semester, I just have to decide who I want to take them through.

This weekend I'm off to Boise, a 4.5 hour drive, to help with wedding planning for my friend Crystal. She's getting married in March and I guess there is a bridal show in town so we are going. And I have to go to David's Bridal to get my dress ordered. I'm excited to go home and see the baby and help with wedding stuff but I am not looking forward to driving all the way back. I don't think this will be happening very often.
