Christmas was something else

So its been, oh.....2 months since I updated my blog. Surprisingly enough not much has happened. I'm still teaching and not making any money, I still live with Michelle and her stinky cat Monster, and I still fill my time grading papers and hanging out with Crystal.

Lets see, anything new or excitng.... On Christmas Eve the family went up to the cabin in Crouch, ID. Everyone was there minus my deadbeat brtoher John for the bulk of the day. My paretns had broguht up a tree they had bought in Boise and we putting it up. My sister, mom and I were putting the ornaments up when we realized the tree was too tall to put the tree topper on it. I then tried to stand on the side of the couch, but I still wasn't tall enough. I went on to hang the garland on the railing to the loft. Then my Dad, being the genius that he is, decided to get on a chair, and crawl up the large windows with hardly any seal to step on to get to the top of the tree. David decided he better stand behind him "in case" he falls. Then, right on cue, my dad falls to the ground. This isn't any fall. He flails around mid air, knocks over the tree, pushes the chiar into Davids face and then lands on top of David. My sister doesn't see the entire thing becasue she is on the couch feeding Kalli and starts to call for David to come help. My mom and I try to figure out how best to fix the situation and make sure David and Dad are still alive. We pick up the tree and try to stand it back up. The tree now refuses to stand on its own. We have to wire it to the wall and hope it doesn't fall down on the presents. There were no casulties that day other than a few glass ornaments. My sister and I have decided Dad is no longer allowed to scale the walls, he is 55 and not Spiderman.
Christmas morning my sister got up a little before 8am to make the babies bottle and there was no water. So my Dad called down the the housing association president to let her know, nad apparently everyone on our street didn't have water. Some one somewhere on the line's pipes had frozen and broke. So there was no water all day longer, so my grandparents and David's parents had to bring up water, and we took buckets and filled them with snow to melt for the toilets. That was something out of the ordinary.

Since being back from Christmas things have gotten back to normal. School is in full swing agian. This weekend I am going with my student and the 7th/8th grade class to Salt Lake for a basketball tournament. Then we have parent-teacher conferences the following week. And on top of that I am trying to get all my paperwork done so I will be certified in the state. (Which, by the way, is expensive) Oh well...
